Cancer Treatment Centers of America® Recognized with Awards for IT Excellence and Innovation
Honors include Computerworld's 2015 Best Places to Work in IT and CIO Magazine's 2015 CIO 100 Award
BOCA RATON, Fla., June 22, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- IDG's Computerworld today named Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA), a national network of five cancer hospitals, to its 2015 list of Best Places to Work in IT. The list, compiled based on an extensive survey of IT workers regarding company offerings in categories such as benefits, career development, training and retention, is an annual ranking of the top 100 work environments for technology professionals. This national ranking demonstrates the ability of CTCA to challenge its staff while also providing attractive benefits and compensation.
The CTCA Information Technology department includes approximately 200 employees in seven locations across the U.S. The company's commitment to its employees (which CTCA refers to as "stakeholders") is demonstrated by the number of programs and financial incentives it offers to enhance employee satisfaction.
In addition, CTCA recently received the 2015 CIO 100 Award by CIO Magazine for exemplifying the highest level of operational and strategic IT excellence in its work to merge patient and physician portals into one innovative and integrated patient portal and mobile app, myCTCA.com. The company implemented new technologies and security enhancements to provide patients with a more robust online portal and the ability to view lab results, medications, upcoming appointments, request prescription renewals and securely connect with their dedicated care teams across the country.
"We are honored to receive these prestigious awards," said Kristin Darby, Chief Information Officer at CTCA. "By ensuring that our stakeholders have a clear connection between the technology work we perform and the impact on our patients, we have created a highly engaged working environment that is directly changing the way in which CTCA fights cancer."
CTCA will be recognized at The CIO 100 Symposium & Awards Ceremony on August 11 in Colorado Springs, Colorado. The Best Places to Work in IT list will appear in the June 22 digital edition of Computerworld and online at Computerworld.com.
