Cancer Treatment Centers of America® Medicine & Science Names Rodney Huebbers Chief Operating Officer
BOCA RATON, Fla., June 1, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) Medicine & Science today announced the appointment of Rodney Huebbers as Chief Operating Officer. Beginning June 15, Huebbers, who will be based at CTCA headquarters in Boca Raton, Fla., will focus on the development and implementation of clinical programs throughout the CTCA enterprise. In his new role, he will provide leadership, resources and focused execution on clinical quality, research, innovation and strategy while working closely with the CTCA Chief Operating Officer, Chief Nursing Officer, Chief Medical Director and regional medical centers' executive leadership teams.

Huebbers has more than 30 years of senior-level experience and most recently served as President and Chief Executive Officer of University Health System in Shreveport, La., where he orchestrated the transition and conversion of University Health System from a public entity to a private, not-for-profit health system subsidiary. Prior to his role at University Health System, Huebbers was President and Chief Operating Officer of Tenet Health System's Detroit Medical Center, and Chief Operating Officer of Vanguard Health System in San Antonio.
Huebbers is recognized among many professional and community associations, including the Board of Directors at University Health Consortium; Associate Professor, Executive Health Care Administration program at Peking University; and Associate Professor, Executive MBA program at Baylor University. In 2003, he received a Letter of Appreciation from the U.S. Senate for his efforts to contain the first Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS) case in the United States.
Huebbers received a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Rhode Island, College of Pharmacy and an MBA in Healthcare Finance from Bryant College.
