SCHAUMBURG, Ill., Nov. 4, 2013 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cancer Treatment Centers of America (CTCA) has announced the appointment of Giuseppe Del Priore, MD, MPH as the National Director of Gynecologic Oncology. Based out of the CTCA Southeastern Regional Medical Center in Newnan, Georgia, Dr. Del Priore will oversee the organization's national gynecologic oncology practice.

After graduating from The City University of New York's Brooklyn College, Dr. Del Priore received his medical degree from State University of New York, Downstate Medical Center in Brooklyn, New York. Dr. Del Priore then pursued his Master of Public Health in Biostatistics and Epidemiology at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Dr. Del Priore was an Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident at Northwestern University School of Medicine and a Gynecologic Oncology Fellow at the University of Rochester School of Medicine at Strong Memorial Hospital. In addition, Dr. Del Priore has been a Galloway Gynecologic Oncology Fellow at Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York and a History of Medicine Fellow at the Osler Library of McGill University in Montreal, Canada. Dr. Del Priore is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Gynecologic Oncology from the American Board of Obstetrics & Gynecology.
Prior to joining CTCA, Dr. Del Priore was the Director of Gynecologic Oncology at the Indiana University School of Medicine in Bloomington, Indiana, where he also taught and directed its gynecologic oncology fellowship program. While employed there, he was named to U.S. News and World Report's list of "Best Doctors" in 2011 and 2012, and was also named one of Castle Connolly's Top Doctors® for the Indianapolis region in 2013. Dr. Del Priore also has been an Associate Professor at Cornell University Weill College of Medicine, and an Attending in the Division of Gynecology at Northwestern University School of Medicine.
Dr. Del Priore is an avid researcher and writer who has published more than 170 scientific manuscripts, book chapters and abstracts for peer reviewed journals. Dr. Del Priore's research focus is in the area of onco-infertility where he is a respected expert in the field of fertility preservation.
