Acclaimed surgical oncologist Carol Bier-Laning, MD, FASC, joins CTCA to lead comprehensive program for the treatment of head and neck cancer to offer surgical options for ear, nose and throat cancers
CHICAGO, March 5, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cancer Treatment Centers of America® (CTCA) at Midwestern Regional Medical Center (Midwestern) has launched a comprehensive head and neck cancer program to serve patients with cancers of the oral cavity, throat, larynx, nasal cavity, salivary gland, thyroid, and skin of the head and neck. Esteemed surgical oncologist Carol Bier-Laning, MD, FASC, has joined CTCA to lead the program, which will offer innovative new treatment options and integrative care to patients.

Board certified in otolaryngology, Bier-Laning holds more than 16 years of experience in her field. In addition to seeing patients at CTCA, she serves Loyola University Medical Center as an Associate Professor and sees patients there as well as at Edward Hines, Jr. VA Hospital in Chicago. Bier-Laning completed her fellowship in head and neck oncology at The Ohio State University and performed her residency in otolaryngology at the University of Minnesota. She is a graduate of the University of Colorado Medical School. Bier-Laning holds professional membership with several organizations including the American Academy of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery, American Board of Otolaryngology, American Head and Neck Society, American College of Surgeons and Chicago Laryngological and Otological Society.
