Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), the most recent version of Internet Protocols (IPs), was developed in response to IPv4 address exhaustion. With the intention of replacing IPv4, IPv6 uses a 128-bit address and allowing much more addresses than what is currently available with IPv4.
Although the two were not designed to be interoperable, several transition mechanisms have been devised to allow communication between IPv4 and IPv6 hosts.
There are a few technical benefits with using IPv6. In particular, Canadian Cloud customers benefit from access to hierarchical address allocation methods. This can facilitate route aggregation across the Internet and therefore limiting the expansion of routing tables. With IPv6, the use of multicast addressing is expanded and also simplified. There has been optimization for the delivery of services and device mobility, security and configuration aspects were all taken into consideration when designing IPv6.
With Canadian Cloud Hosting, customers now have access to enterprise cloud hosting in conjunction with IPv6 addresses. Canadian Cloud hosting provides simple pricing and lets customers build their own server(s) in real time by visiting www.cacloud.com and spinning up their cloud servers in the location of their choice. In the months ahead, customers will also have access to IPv6 IPs for their VMware private cloud and other cloud infrastructure requirements.
Canadian Cloud Hosting is SSAE 16 Type II certified and delivers enterprise-grade cloud services. You can deploy VMs instantly and add resources (RAM, CPU, Storage and applications and services) through a user-friendly control panel.
