CANACCORD GENUITY EXPANDS INVESTMENT BANKING GROUP WITH ADDITION OF SUSTAINABILITY BANKING TEAM

NEW YORK, Feb. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ - Canaccord Genuity Inc. is pleased to announce that Jeffrey Lipton has agreed to join Canaccord Genuity's Investment Banking team as a Managing Director covering the Sustainability and Cleantech Sector, with an anticipated start date in May 2011. With him, joins Joanita Ricketts, who will serve as a Principal of Investment Banking.  Ms. Ricketts will also focus on the Sustainability and Cleantech Sector and has an anticipated start date of April 2011.

Both Mr. Lipton and Ms. Ricketts will work on a broad range of sustainability assignments, including public offerings, private placements, and merger and acquisition advisory work.  Based out of New York, they will focus primarily on the smart grid, energy efficiency, transportation technologies, biofuel and renewable chemical segments of the industry.  Mr. Lipton also has extensive knowledge of the sustainability sector in China.  His transactional experience in this important market will be highly complementary to the services provided by Canaccord Genuity Asia.

Mr. Lipton joins Canaccord Genuity from Jefferies & Company, where he founded the CleanTech banking efforts and served as Managing Director, Head of North America CleanTech Investment Banking for almost seven years.  Prior to Jefferies, he spent three years at Morgan Stanley, where he was a Vice President in the General Industrial & Chemical Investment Banking group.  Mr. Lipton holds an M.B.A. with honors distinction from Columbia Business School, a J.D. from Columbia School of Law and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a B.S. in Economics and a B.A. in Environmental Studies from the University of Pennsylvania, Wharton School of Finance and College of Arts and Sciences.

Ms. Ricketts also joins Canaccord Genuity from Jefferies & Company, where she served as a Senior Vice President in the CleanTech Investment Banking Group.  Prior to joining Jefferies, she worked in the Corporate Finance and Advisory Group at Credit Lyonnais Securities and the Global Telecommunications Group at Bear Stearns. Ms. Ricketts graduated Magna Cum Laude from Howard University with a B.B.A in International Business & Finance.
