Can Lean Six Sigma Really Save the Government $500 Billion Dollars a Year?
LONDON, October 26, 2011 /PRNewswire/ --
Those were the claims put forward by Republican Party candidate Newt Gingrich in a recent Fox News interview. Gingrich is just one of the latest politicians to sign up to campaign group Strong America Now's pledge to get politicians to use Lean Six Sigma to improve government operations.
In this special edition of Process Perspectives, listen to a recording of an open conference call that Gingrich recently held with Lean Six Sigma practitioners to discuss how he thinks Lean Six Sigma can be part of the solution to government debt woes.
Open Call with Newt Gingrich on Lean Six Sigma Government follows on from our recent popular podcast, Should The President of the United States be a Black Belt? Where Mike George argues the case for making greater use of Lean Six Sigma in government and cites success stories in the US military and US healthcare. George also says that he thinks it's only a matter of time before all politicians sign up to the process improvement method of government debt reduction - and even suggests it's time for a Six Sigma President.
