Campus Advantage Names New Senior Vice President of On Campus Management

AUSTIN, Texas, Jan. 29, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Campus Advantage, a leading student housing company, has hired industry expert Dr. Janice A. Johnson as senior vice president of on campus management as part of the company's effort to keep pace with the growth it is seeing in its on campus and operations projects--both in the United States and internationally.

Johnson brings to the Campus Advantage leadership team her extensive experience with on-campus and international projects. During her 25-year career, she has overseen the administration, operations and educational activities for student housing facilities at five major universities, representing more than 25,000 beds. This background includes serving as executive director of U.S. Equities Student Housing where she spent six years managing University Center Chicago, which is the nation's largest multi-institutional student housing facility with 1,700 beds, a full-service conference center and 30,000 feet of retail space.

Johnson joins the Campus Advantage team after three years as senior vice president at Nove International where she worked in student housing, residence life and facilities management.

She also has a long list of academic credentials. Johnson holds several degrees from Illinois State University--a bachelor's degree, master's degree in counselor education and a doctorate in educational administration and foundations. She has served as an associate faculty member at Cascadia Community College, Central Washington University and Illinois State University. She taught courses in career management and learning assessment, as well as a course that gave students an introduction to higher education.

Johnson said she will take advantage of this extensive background in her new role at Campus Advantage by increasing operational efficiencies, building partnerships, being responsive to the needs of residents and staff and promoting corporate excellence.
