CamFind, the New Mobile Visual Search Engine and Google Goggles Competitor, Surpasses 500,000 Downloads
LOS ANGELES, July 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Image Searcher, Inc. announced today that its free visual search app for iOS, CamFind (https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/id595857716), has surpassed 500,000 downloads. The announcement came 14 weeks after CamFind's release on the AppStore on April 7, 2013.
CamFind's (http://CamFindApp.com) approach to visual search is a first of its kind. It combines computer vision and crowdsourcing to produce search results at an accuracy level of 85% or higher. CamFind processes thousands of images per-day, with a response time of 15 seconds or less per image.
"We feel proud to have reached the half a million downloads milestone only several months after launching CamFind," said Dominik Mazur, CEO of Image Searcher, Inc. "The way our growth is accelerating, we'll be celebrating the million download milestone in a couple months. We have already processed millions of search queries and lately have rapidly climbed the ranking charts to become the top 1/10th of 1% of all iOS apps."
CamFind's long-term goal is to be the most popular one stop source for mobile users to conduct photo, voice, and text searches.
"Our next immediate step is to raise venture capital funds so we can make our mobile search technology ubiquitous, develop an Android version, and bring CamFind to the masses in more countries," said Mazur.
CamFind's search process begins once its user takes a picture of an object of interest - at any angle. The app identifies the object and presents an intent screen with the following modules: Internet search results, related and similar images, price comparisons and online shopping, related places and address finder, and movie trailers (if applicable).
In addition, CamFind boasts many time-saving functionalities, such as: Language translator, ability to identify images from the camera roll as well as save images to the camera roll, QR and barcode reader, voice search, text search, and social sharing.
CamFind has three main competitors in the visual search space: Google Goggles, Amazon A9, and IQ Engines' oMoby. CamFind's advantage is its 85% or higher accuracy rate, a response time of 15 seconds or less, and its ability to identify images at any angle.
