Cameron International Renews Contract With BT for High Performance Global Network
EL SEGUNDO, Calif., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- BT today announced it has entered into a three-year agreement with Cameron International Corporation ("Cameron"), one of the world's leading providers of flow equipment products, systems and services to worldwide oil, gas and process industries. BT will continue to operate and manage Cameron's global IT network, including an integrated portfolio of voice, data, video, and high-speed internet services. The renewal contract is valued at more than $12 million.
Cameron's more than 18,000 employees will continue to be securely connected to a global wide area network, enabling them to perform mission critical applications as well as access data, systems and records – anytime, from any of the company's locations in more than 25 countries, across all time zones.
Additionally, BT will continue to manage Cameron's core MPLS (Multiprotocol Label Switching) backbone network that spans more than 130 sites in the U.S., UK, Middle East, and Asia Pacific regions. Providing a range of enhanced services and delivery management globally, BT maintains teams in the UK, Singapore and Houston in support of Cameron's global IT infrastructure.
The renewal agreement will also help integrate the employees and business operations of a recently completed Cameron acquisition, the NATCO Group Inc., onto a single Cameron IT network platform with global reach and connectivity. The contract offers, as well, cost efficiencies and future-proof capabilities that will enable the network to be expanded and strengthened, based on Cameron's growth and evolving needs.
"We are delighted to have the opportunity to further enhance BT's existing relationship with Cameron during the coming years," said Michael Boustridge, president, BT Global Services Multi-National Corporations. "Today's announcement reinforces BT's strengths in providing enterprises with critical IT communications solutions that serve as a key enabler for success in today's global marketplace."
"To meet the dynamic requirements of our business, we need to access and process volumes of information quickly and securely -- from locations across the globe, including some of the most remote areas of the world," said William Hull, Director IT Infrastructure, Cameron. "With BT's IT solution, we will continue to have access to a robust global and cost-efficient network with the speed, flexibility, reliability, and performance we require to work effectively with our customers and suppliers, wherever they may be located."
