Cambridge College School of Education to Host Public Event on Wed., Aug. 31, 2011: "Future Careers in Education: Navigating the 21st Century Jobscape" 80 Prospect Street, Cambridge, MA
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., Aug. 29, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Cambridge College School of Education is proud to welcome Dr. Timothy Sullivan, Vice President of the Massachusetts Teachers Association, to a public lecture and forum on the future of education. The event will be held Wednesday, August 31st at 6 p.m. at 80 Prospect Street in Cambridge.
The event is titled, "Future Careers in Education: Navigating the 21st Century Jobscape," and will focus on how large-scale economic and social shifts will shape the career prospects of current and future educators.
"There will always be a demand for well-qualified teachers," says Dr. Sullivan. "Teaching and medicine are two fields with relatively stable employment despite the recession….with the national population expected to grow by 100 million over the next 40 years, the demand for teachers will remain high."
The lecture will be followed by a panel discussion featuring: Glenola Mitchell, M.Ed., civic and social organization professional; Dr. George Guasconi, educator and program coordinator for Professional Development & Collaborative Programs at Cambridge College; Gloria Stanton, M.Ed., program coordinator for Early Childhood Education at Cambridge College; and Dr. Stephen Maio, educator and program coordinator for the School Administration program at Cambridge College.
