Cambridge College Hosts Second Annual Sigma Beta Delta National Honors Induction Ceremony
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 27, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Cambridge College Chapter of the Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society held its second annual induction ceremony. During the May 30th event, over 30 undergraduate and graduate students studying in programs of management were inducted into the National Honor Society. Also inducted this year was Cambridge College Trustee and School of Management Alumna Susan Ifill. Susan is the Chief Operating and Financial Officer at the Neighborhood Housing Services of New York City, Inc. Prior to this, Susan was the former Senior Vice President and Chief Retail Officer of Carver Federal Savings Bank in Harlem, NY, and previously spent over 28 years at Bank of America.
The ceremony, held at the main Cambridge campus located at 1000 Massachusetts Avenue, was hosted by the School of Management Dean, Dr. Mary Ann Joseph, and School of Management Core Faculty Member Dr. Joseph Reed. Sigma Beta Delta inductees are nominated for their academic achievement, dedication to service, and personal and professional development. Last year's inductees included 36 students as well as Cambridge College President Deborah Jackson, Provost Dr. Elwood Robinson, and longtime friend and supporter of the College, Carl Barron, who is now deceased.
On the induction ceremony, Provost Robinson stated, "The faculty and staff members of Cambridge College are immensely proud of this year's Sigma Beta Delta inductees. The undergraduate and graduate students entering the National Honor Society have displayed profound academic achievement and are inspiring ambassadors of Cambridge College within their communities. Sigma Beta Delta inductees must maintain a GPA of 3.0 and must be nominated by a Cambridge College faculty member. The Sigma Beta Delta National Honor Society was established in 1994 to honor scholastic achievement in management and business programs. Originally comprised of seven founding chapters, Sigma Beta Delta now includes 375 colleges and universities both nationally and abroad.
