Cambridge College Announces Two New Massachusetts Department of Higher Education Approved Undergraduate Bachelor's Degrees
CAMBRIDGE, Mass., June 25, 2014 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Cambridge College is pleased to announce that they will offer two new degree programs, which have been approved by the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education. The programs, a Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Care and a Bachelor of Science in Managerial Accounting will be offered through the College's School of Undergraduate Studies located at 1000 Massachusetts Avenue in Cambridge, MA.
The Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Care's coursework was designed to directly align with the Core Competencies developed by the Massachusetts Department of Early Education and Care, as well as the College's mission of social justice and inclusivity. The program was developed to support students who choose to work in a larger private center, at Headstart or other like agencies, and for those students who choose to provide home care.
The Bachelor of Science in Managerial Accounting program is built on a core curriculum of 42 credits and is intended to give students the skills and academic background to work in managerial accounting, and to sit for the Association of Accountants and Financial Professionals in Business' (IMA) Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA) examination. The curriculum, learning outcomes, and coursework are designed to provide students with the practical academic experiences to succeed in the field of managerial accounting.
On the addition of the new degree programs, Dean James Lee, who joined Cambridge College as a full-time faculty member in 2005 and was later appointed Dean in 2008, shared, "These two degree programs represent the very best components of contemporary theory and practice in their respective disciplines, and are designed to equip students with applicable and relevant skills to begin or expand their careers. Our sincere thanks go out to both the New England Association of Schools and Colleges and the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education, for their support and guidance in developing and launching these exciting new programs!"
The Cambridge College School of Undergraduate Studies, which confers Bachelor's Degrees in Human Services, Management Studies, Multidisciplinary Studies, and Psychology, opened at the College in 1994.
Both the Bachelor of Arts in Early Childhood Education and Care and the Bachelor of Science in Managerial Accounting will begin to be offered at Cambridge College to new and existing undergraduate students at the start of the fall 2014 semester.
