Cambium Networks And JAB Broadband Expand Partnership To Provide Expanded VoIP And Internet Service
Largest US wireless Internet provider enhances network with Cambium Networks platforms to increase connectivity speeds and elevate service to homes and businesses
ROLLING MEADOWS, Ill., Jan. 20, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Cambium Networks™, a global leading provider of wireless broadband solutions, and JAB Broadband, the nation's largest fixed wireless broadband carrier, today announced the most comprehensive corporate supply agreement in the two companies' eight year partnership history. With this significant infrastructure investment, primarily in Cambium Networks' PTP 820 licensed microwave solution and PMP 450 fixed wireless broadband access platform, JAB Broadband's goal is to deliver residential broadband subscriber rates of 50 Mbps to support growing demand for streaming video services and multi-device homes.
Under this new agreement, JAB Broadband's network will have access to the full range of Cambium Networks' products: ePMP™, PTP 450 and PTP 650, in addition to PTP 820 and PMP 450. This equipment will increase capacity and provide higher speeds to existing customers while enabling JAB to expand into new markets where broadband users have been starved for reliable high-speed internet and digital phone services.
"We see streaming video being the number one driver for network bandwidth growth with consumers doubling consumption year over year. As we grow our network via acquisition, we place a premium on WISPs that have built high quality and reliable networks," said Jack Koo, president and chief executive officer, JAB Broadband. "In eight years, we've grown to nearly 200,000 customers and this would not have been possible without a reliable fixed wireless broadband solution provider. Our continued relationship with Cambium Networks is a testament to the value of its turnkey fixed wireless platforms which fit seamlessly with our existing infrastructure and allow us to quickly install new equipment."
"We have been working with JAB Broadband since its inception in 2006," said Atul Bhatnagar, president and CEO, Cambium Networks. "We are pleased to see that our product quality and reliability have consistently met JAB's fast-growing needs, and has laid the foundation for its numerous expansions. We look forward to working with JAB as it grows its footprint, adds subscribers, increases network capacity and adds services to its network."
