HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Nov. 25, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Camber Corporation announced today that Robert "Mac" McLaughlin, a Camber ISD Assessment Specialist, has been selected to present a paper on adaptive testing at the Interservice/Industry Training, Simulation and Education Conference (I/ITSEC), the world's largest modeling, simulation, and training conference being held in Florida at the Orange County Convention Center from November 30 through December 4, 2015.
This year's conference theme, "Forging the Future through Innovation", is embodied by the paper "Adaptive Testing: Adapt and Overcome the Shortfalls of Traditional Proficiency Assessments". In contrast to typical "Pass/Fail" testing, adaptive testing can assess job competencies and proficiency levels precisely across a continuum ranging from entry level to mastery. When implemented appropriately, adaptive testing offers significant advantages in cost savings and in developing mastery throughout one's career when compared with traditional models.
Mr. McLaughlin co-authored the paper with his colleague Dr. Stephen Gunter, who is an Industrial/Organizational Psychologist at Camber, and Jeff Pearson from the Veterans Benefits Administration who serves as a Human Performance Technologist and Instructional Design professional. Mr. McLaughlin is a former Army Intelligence officer with experience in training development and Human Performance Assessment methodology, particularly oriented to live training and human-in-the-loop process evaluation for military and federal clients. For the past two years, Mr. McLaughlin has worked with Camber Corporation as a test lead for diagnostic assessment and skills certification tests for the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA).
To learn more about Adaptive Testing and innovative methods to supporting proficiency assessments, attend Mr. McLaughlin's session on Tuesday, December 1, 2015 at 1600-17:30 in S320E at the Orange County Convention Center, Orlando, Florida.
