Camber Corporation Board of Advisor General Schoomaker Supports Southern Indiana Regional Development

HUNTSVILLE, Ala., March 25, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Camber Corporation announced today that its Board of Advisor retired U.S. Army General Peter J. Schoomaker will tour Southern Indiana to include the Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC), Crane Division and the Indiana National Guard Muscatatuck Urban Training Center (MUTC).  As part of his visit, General Schoomaker will engage in discussions with the George Rogers Clark National Defense Industrial Associate (NDIA) Indiana/Kentucky Chapter on identifying and developing technical and training support and emerging needs in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance for its region.

As part of General Schoomaker's visit to the region the George Rogers Clark NDIA Chapter is also hosting a reception in General Schoomaker's honor in appreciation for his support.  "We are excited to be hosting General Schoomaker.  We appreciate his time and interest in our mission and how it supports the Southern Indiana regional development," states Daniel Cabel, Board of Directors Chairman for the NDIA Indiana/Kentucky Chapter.

General Schoomaker retired from active service on December 1, 2000 as the Commander-in-Chief, United States Special Operations Command, and was recalled to active duty as the 35th Chief of Staff, United States Army, on August 1, 2003. On April 10, 2007, he returned to retired status after more than 35 years of service in a variety of command and staff assignments with both conventional and special operations forces. During his service, he participated in numerous operational deployments, including DESERT ONE in Iran, URGENT FURY in Grenada, various operations in Lebanon and El Salvador, JUST CAUSE in Panama, DESERT SHIELD/DESERT STORM in Southwest Asia, UPHOLD DEMOCRACY in Haiti, and supported many other worldwide joint contingency operations, including those in the Balkans, Afghanistan, Iraq, and the Global War on Terror.  General Schoomaker serves as a Director for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation and currently serves on the Board of Advisors for Camber Corporation.
