Calvin, Giordano & Associates Opens Office in Atlanta
ATLANTA, April 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Calvin, Giordano & Associates (CGA) has opened their first Georgia office to better serve its growing list of governmental clients in the Greater Atlanta region.
CGA is a multi-disciplinary professional consulting firm that offers a comprehensive approach to engineering, land planning, government regulatory compliance, public sector contract services, data technologies, emergency management and developmental issues.
The new Atlanta office is located at Ashford Perimeter, 4151 Ashford Dunwoody Road, Suite 120, N.E. Atlanta. Managing the Atlanta office for CGA is George Keller, Director of Governmental Services.
In November of 2008, Dunwoody (Georgia's newest DeKalb County municipality located north of Atlanta), signed CGA to a three-year, multi-purpose management contract for finance and administrative services. In the first year of operations, CGA oversaw the installation of telephone and IT systems, opened the new city hall, provided administrative staff, implemented the court system, and set up the police department, including hiring officers and purchasing 48 police vehicles. The formation of the police department -- a key driver in the incorporation effort -- accounted for 40 percent of the city's budget. To keep residents, businesses and the outside world informed, CGA designed and developed the official City of Dunwoody website and the Dunwoody Convention and Visitors Bureau website. Both websites feature a content management system that allows city staff to publish documents and information instantly to the website. Other features include a support ticket system for residents, an online municipal court payment gateway, a discussion forum, interactive maps and a document management system.
CGA last year updated the multi-jurisdictional hazard mitigation plan for Fulton County, home to over a million residents and the state's largest city. As a consultant to the Atlanta Fulton County Emergency Management Agency, CGA planners evaluated vulnerable structures and populations in Fulton County that are at risk from a variety of natural hazards known to threaten the area. Participating municipalities included Atlanta, Milton, Roswell, Mountain Park, Sandy Springs, East Point, College Park, Union City, Fairburn, Palmetto, Chattahoochee Hills and Hapeville.
CGA, which is based in Fort Lauderdale, employs approximately 220 people. For more information, call 954-921-7781 or go to CGA's website at www.calvin-giordano.com.
