Calvin Berman honored as outstanding student by The University of Texas at Austin College of Communication
LOS ANGELES, Nov. 10, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Calvin Berman of Beverly Hills, California, was honored by The University of Texas at Austin's College of Communication annual Honors Day Convocation, which took place last spring.
Honors Day is a pre-Commencement event for graduating seniors and the occasion when students who have achieved academic excellence are honored by academic officers and deans, members of the faculty and student leaders. The Honors Day Convocation includes a procession of student honorees and the presentation of medallions to Distinguished College Scholars by academic deans.
Berman was honored at the Texas Union Ballroom for earning a 3.66 cumulative grade point average, which placed him amongst the top 20 percent of his classmates. "I am humbled by The University of Texas at Austin College of Communication's recognition," says Berman, who currently holds a 3.73 grade point average. "I am focused on being the best that I can be."
In addition to recognizing student scholarship recipients and College and Distinguished Scholars, all students honored for scholastic excellence and success at Honors Day receive a university honor cord, to be worn at Commencement.
The College Scholar intends to graduate this coming May, a full year ahead of schedule, and will start law school next fall.
