Calvac Paving's President Obtains ADA-CASp Certification
Calvac Paving's CASp Certification will Help the Company to be a Leader in ADA Access Barrier Issues
SAN JOSE, Calif., Nov. 30, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Jim Adam, the president of Calvac Paving, is excited to announce that he has earned his ADA Certified Access Specialist. Thanks to this recent certification, Calvac Paving is poised to be a leader in Americans with Disabilities (ADA) access barrier removal.
As a new blog on the Calvac Paving website explained, the ADA sets very strict standards for commercial construction; this ensures that people with physical disabilities will have full access to public buildings and other locations. Because the ADA is continually evolving, some construction companies and architects are not current on how ADA paths of travel, parking stalls and ramps should be designed under the most current standards.
In order to make sure that Calvac Paving is compliant with all ADA provisions, Jim decided to pursue full CASp certification.
"This rigorous training and certification program requires applicants to be fully trained and cognizant of issues concerning building and business access for disabled persons at both the state and federal levels to ensure compliance with all ADA provisions," the new blog noted, adding that Jim has closely monitored changes to the ADA regulations since they were first put in place.
As Jim noted, his desire to better serve all of Calvac Paving's clients as well as the general public inspired him to pursue his CASp certification and become as confident as possible with the ADA standards.
"By training for years to understand the history, goals and application of the Americans with Disabilities Act, I am better equipped to provide Calvac Paving's clients with a final product that will provide the barrier removal and access that the current California Building Code and ADAS require on their properties," Jim said.
As Jim explained, his CASp certification will also help to establish his company as an industry leader in ADA compliance and building accessibility. In turn, Jim said, this will alleviate concerns about whether or not buildings and ramps meet the applicable building codes for accessibility.
