Calnetix Technologies' Archie Andonian Named Society for Experimental Mechanics Fellow
- Senior R&D Scientist One of Only 133 to Be Given Honor since 1975 -
CERRITOS, Calif., June 18, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- Archie A.T. Andonian, Ph. D., Senior R&D Scientist for Calnetix Technologies, a pioneer in high-speed permanent magnetic motor generators, power electronics and magnetic bearings for a variety of applications and industries, was recently named a Society for Experimental Mechanics (SEM) Fellow.
He is one of only 133 individuals to be given the honor in the nearly 40 years that the association has granted selected persons such a title.

According to the organization, an SEM Fellow is given to nominated individuals who receive a two-thirds vote by the Committee of Fellows and are confirmed by the organization's Executive Committee. Persons up for consideration must be ones who distinguished themselves in some field in which SEM has interest and whose contributions to the technical community are of great significance.
Andonian received his Ph.D. in Engineering Science and Mechanics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and S.U. in 1978. He has been published in Engineering Fracture Mechanics, Applied Optics, Experimental Mechanics, Experimental Techniques, Journal of Biomechanics, ACI Journal and Journal of Material Science, and has more than 200 research papers. Andonian is Past-President of the SEM, and has been a member for 35 years. In his current role at Calnetix Technologies, he is active in the field of waste heat recovery and alternate forms of energy.
