MONTREAL, Nov. 3, 2015 /CNW Telbec/ - With more than 660 million people living without access to safe water, and a child dying every minute because of a water-related illness, action needs to be taken. That's why One Drop, the nonprofit started by Cirque du Soleil founder Guy Laliberté, has launched a campaign to help moms and their children who need it most by providing sustainable safe-water solutions.
Moms from all over the world are coming together to donate and support this important cause, and it's easy for you to get involved too: You can share the powerful campaign video, use social media to call out your child's first moment doing something special, and, of course, make a donation at onedrop.org.
Start by taking a moment to watch the video at www.onedrop.org/en/campaign, then share it online with family and friends. It's tough to watch, but does an incredible job at showing the importance of donating by telling the story of how without safe water, a mother's emotional first milestones with her baby can also be the last.
To get the word out on social media, you can celebrate your child's precious firsts—such as first smile, first step, first word—by posting them in your little one's voice with a picture or video. This is something many moms do already, but this time, we're asking you to use the hashtag #MoreFirsts and donate. Every post should tag "mommy friends" to share their own kids' firsts too, which will keep the movement growing and the donations coming in.
Here's a sample post: "Just played in the leaves for the first time! Calling out my friends' mommies @Sara, @Kate and @Joan to post a first too and donate, to give moms and babies in developing countries #MoreFirsts. – Baby Josh"
And don't forget, whether you're sharing the video or calling out a child's first something special, encourage your network to donate at www.onedrop.org.
Because all moms deserve #MoreFirsts.
