Call for Nominations for the 18th Annual GS1 US Apparel and General Merchandise Retail Industry Achievement Awards Now Open
LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J., March 2, 2015 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- GS1 US is now accepting nominations for the GS1 US Apparel and General Merchandise Retail Industry Achievement Awards, which recognize retail supply chain excellence in the application of GS1 Standards and industry best practice guidelines. All nominations must be received by April 10, 2015 to be considered.
The awards will be presented at a networking dinner during GS1 Connect™ 2015 on June 1, 2015 at the JW Marriott Austin, in Austin, Texas. The awards are supported by the GS1 US Apparel and General Merchandise Initiative, which serves to provide the education, training, tools, and community support that apparel and general merchandise retailers and brands need to implement GS1 Standards. These standards serve as a common language of business enabling companies to enhance inventory visibility and deliver on consumer omni-channel expectations.
Nominations are open to retailers, manufacturers, suppliers, and logistics and technology providers. The Initiative will accept nominations for industry leaders (individuals and organizations) who have implemented GS1 Standards to deliver outstanding innovation in the retail supply chain and whose vision and work have produced positive results in community engagement, customer satisfaction and process improvement in the following categories:
GS1 US Retailer Excellence Award
This award is presented to a retail company that has developed or adopted GS1 Standards-based internal applications, processes, and supply chain best practices that have resulted in enhanced efficiency, improved customer service, reduced costs and/or increased speed-to-market by working collaboratively with trading partners to create true end-to-end supply chain integration.
GS1 US Supplier Excellence Award
This award honors a consumer goods manufacturer or wholesale distributor that has developed or adopted GS1 Standards-based internal applications, processes and supply chain best practices that have resulted in enhanced efficiency, improved customer service, reduced costs and/or increased speed-to-market by working collaboratively with trading partners to create true end-to-end supply chain integration.
GS1 US Solution Provider Excellence Award
This award recognizes a third-party logistics, services or systems provider that has developed and/or implemented GS1 Standards-based solutions, offerings, and supply chain practices that have proven to be cost effective, improve trading partner integration and result in supply chain improvements.
GS1 US Apparel and General Merchandise Roger Milliken Career Achievement Award
The 2015 Roger Milliken Career Achievement Award is presented to an individual who has demonstrated outstanding leadership and active involvement in the development and/or deployment of GS1 Standards. The recipient of this award personifies the values and expertise necessary for the successful implementation of GS1 Standards at his or her organization.
