Call for Entries for HUMANITAS' NEW VOICES Mentoring Program
LOS ANGELES, Feb. 28, 2019 /PRNewswire/ -- HUMANITAS is pleased to announce a Call for Entries for our NEW VOICES program. The goal of the NEW VOICES Program, entering its ninth year, is to advance the careers of new and still emerging writers through mentorship by Hollywood showrunners, feature film writers, and studio partners.
"HUMANITAS has long supported and rewarded the best writing on television," says David Stapf, President of CBS Television Studios. "With the NEW VOICES initiative, they are giving promising writers an opportunity to be mentored by some of the best in the business, and CBS Television Studios is honored to be a part of this program."

Every year, NEW VOICES selects up to five winners. Candidates are asked to submit a writing sample and participate in personal interviews. Once matched with a mentor, the writers have three months to further develop their script under their mentors' supervision. After the script is honed, HUMANITAS sends it to a partnering studio or network executive.
The winning writers are given recognition at the annual awards ceremony and are awarded with a $7,500 grant.
HUMANITAS is looking for writers with compelling stories and developed characters. Any genre is accepted as a 30-minute pilot, 60-minute pilot, or feature film screenplay. We accept only one application and writing sample per year. To be eligible a writer can have experience up to the level of Executive Story Editor.
Our participating Showrunners/mentors include: Alan Ball, Janine Sherman Barrois, Matthew Carlson, Carter Covington, Tom Fontana, Marc Guggenheim, Hart Hanson, Chris Harris, Felicia Henderson, David Hudgins, Jason Katims, Jay Kogen, Bill Lawrence, Ali LeRoi, Melanie Marnich, Nancy Pimental, Rashad Raisani, David Shore, Robin Swicord, Raelle Tucker, Pam Veasey, Ben Watkins and David Zuckerman.
