Caliper Corporation Announces Passing Of Founder and Chief Executive Officer Dr. Herbert Greenberg
PRINCETON, N.J., Jan. 20, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- With deep sadness, Caliper, a leading provider of human resources, assessment and talent management solutions, announced today that its Founder and CEO Herb Greenberg has passed away from natural causes. Dr. Greenberg served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer from 1961 until his death and was instrumental in the development of the HR assessment industry.
Growing up in Brooklyn, Herb lost his sight at the age of 10. Despite vision loss Dr. Greenberg went on to received his Bachelor and Master degrees in Psychology from City College of New York, was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, and received his Ph.D. with highest honors in Human Relations and Psychology from New York University.
After working with the NYC Department of Welfare and teaching at Texas Tech and Rutgers University, Dr. Greenberg spent 4 years developing a personality assessment that has become known as the Caliper Profile, setting the standard for personality assessments. The solution he developed, comparing an individual's personality qualities to the requirements of a specific job, proved that one could predict job success through effective job matching. It created and became the "gold standard" of the industry.
