SACRAMENTO, Calif., Sept. 17, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The California Student Aid Commission has announced its unanimous support for Governor Jerry Brown's initiative Proposition 30, the Schools and Local Public Safety Protection Act.
The Commission is California's principal state agency responsible for administering financial aid programs for students attending public and private universities, colleges and vocational schools. Diana Fuentes-Michel Commission Executive Director said, "The Commission's mission is to make education beyond high school financially accessible to all Californians. The Schools and Local Public Safety Protection Act will provide much needed new revenues to help fund education and balance California's Budget."

Our colleges face $6 billion in devastating cuts. Proposition 30 is the only measure on the November 2012 ballot that provides new funding to protect higher education starting this year."
