California Society of CPAs Relocates Headquarters to Burlingame
BURLINGAME, Calif., May 23, 2017 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The California Society of CPAs (CalCPA.org) has officially opened its new headquarters in a completely refurbished three-story building at 1710 Gilbreth Road.
CalCPA, the nation's largest state CPA association, purchased the facility from the American Heart Association, which is now a tenant.
CalCPA has moved about 100 employees from its previous offices in San Mateo to the new facility.
"We completely gutted the Gilbreth building and upgraded its structure, including earthquake retrofitting," remarked Andy Mintzer, CalCPA chair. "We hope the facility will serve members and employees for many decades to come."
The new facility also will house the CalCPA Education Foundation, a major provider of continuing professional education (CPE) programs for CPAs and financial professionals. From its new video studio, the Foundation will be able to live-stream courses through webcasts to California CPAs as well as members of 45 other state societies that are Foundation education partners.
The building features open-plan workspaces that allow for more collaboration among employees, as well as such amenities as an employee kitchen and break area.
CalCPA and the Education Foundation will occupy the bottom two floors of the building, which has a total of about 35,000 square feet. The American Heart Association is leasing space on the third floor, and additional office space is available for lease on that floor.
CalCPA had occupied offices at 1800 Gateway Drive, San Mateo, since 2011.
