California Restaurant Month Celebrates 5 Years In 2015
SACRAMENTO, Calif., Dec. 4, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- January offers 31 days of culinary experiences and exploration throughout the Golden State during Visit California's fifth-annual California Restaurant Month.
It's a food lover's utopia, as more than 30 destinations statewide feature celebrity chef events, wine-pairing specials, gourmet prix-fixe dinners and exclusive seasonal offerings. California is unsurpassed in the farm-to-fork movement with almost 82,000 farms and ranches. The state produces nearly half of all American-grown fruits, nuts and vegetables.
California Restaurant Month showcases the state's agricultural diversity, while also highlighting its tourism offerings. "Dine and drive" itineraries have been created by Visit California, and there are dozens more food and wine travel ideas available at the official restaurant month website, www.DineinCA.com.
"From fresh seafood at coastal cafes to 'just-picked' produce statewide, visitors and locals will find a cornucopia of culinary experiences," said Caroline Beteta, president and CEO of Visit California. "Restaurant Month gives everyone the chance to discover why California is one of the world's premier dining destinations."
Throughout January 2015, dining opportunities run the gamut from Bay Area foodie favorites to eclectic foods in the City of Angels to a culinary oasis in the desert. And, rest assured, there are plenty of food and wine pairings in the world-renowned wine regions.
Visitors may add on to their culinary getaway with activities such as mountain thrills at one of the state's premier winter resorts, sunning and surfing along 1,265 miles of coastline, or rest and relaxation at a destination spa resort.
