Why: |
The emphasis of this free seminar is to inform employers and managers about the state's requirements and the benefits of providing workplace lactation accommodation. California was among the first states in the nation to enact legislation that requires employers to provide unpaid break time and a clean, private space for nursing mothers. California's Labor Commissioner, Angela Bradstreet, was a recent guest at the White House and spoke to President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama about California's lactation law. The state's requirements are now part of the recently-passed Federal Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. |
