California Judges Association Partners with Abine to Provide Improved Online Privacy to its Judicial Members
DeleteMe Service Now Available to Association's Network of Judges to Remove their Personal Data from People Search Sites and Data Brokers
BOSTON, June 20, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Abine, Inc., a Boston online privacy startup, announced an exclusive partnership today with the California Judges Association to provide its DeleteMe service to the Association's judicial members. Abine's DeleteMe subscription service finds and removes personal data from data broker websites and monitors them to ensure the data does not return. DeleteMe's operators will delete the judges' personal information, including their names, addresses, phone numbers, and other data, from the largest online databases and people search websites, including Spokeo.com and WhitePages.com.
Consumer worries about online privacy are growing consistently, and this concern is even more prominent among members of the judicial system. Due to the nature of their work, judicial professionals face heightened personal safety and security risks of strangers or adversarial legal parties seeking them out at home. Judges in particular worry that litigants or families of those sentenced to prison may retaliate against them, turning to online databases for the judges' personal information.
"We think privacy is an issue of growing importance, and we're happy to introduce innovative new services like DeleteMe to our members," said Stan Bissey, executive director and CEO of the California Judges Association. Through marketing databases, social networks, credit bureaus, and public records like birth certificates and marriage licenses, the judges' most personal information can often be found online. Their names, ages, current addresses, and family members' names are a few of the pieces of information up for sale.
With the DeleteMe service, Abine's privacy experts delete subscribers' personal information from a list of the largest people search websites. DeleteMe is the only service available that can delete a subscriber's information from more than 50 websites, including Intelius.com, PeopleFinders.com, Addresses.com, and USSearch.com. Most sites require a unique procedure to remove listings, and Abine's DeleteMe operators are experts in each of these privacy policies, terms of use, and processes to ensure that all personal information is properly and swiftly removed. The service conducts monitoring to prevent information from reappearing and provides subscribers with a comprehensive report showing the state of their online privacy.
"We're pleased to bring greater privacy and control to the members of the California Judges Association through this exclusive partnership," said Bill Kerrigan, Abine CEO. "By providing the Association's members with DeleteMe, it will be almost impossible for strangers to find these judges' personal information, including where they live or how to contact them. Our DeleteMe operators will remove the judges' profiles from the largest, most invasive databases and monitor the status of their information to significantly improve their privacy online."
DeleteMe is available today for $99 for a one-year subscription. To learn more, please visit: https://abine.com/deletemedetail.php
