SOUTHFIELD, Mich., July 30, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- The California First District Court of Appeal has chosen TrueFiling™, an electronic filing solution from ImageSoft, Inc., as its e-filing system. TrueFiling was selected after ImageSoft, of Southfield, Mich., responded to a request for proposal issued in February by the California Administrative Office of the Court (AOC) seeking a modern, efficient, intuitive e-filing portal for attorneys, government filers and self-represented filers with the capability to serve the state's six Courts of Appeal and the Supreme Court.

TrueFiling is a 7x24 Web-based e-file tool that improves overall efficiency for the courts and filers by drastically reducing paper handling. The solution allows documents to flow smoothly from the Internet into the case file and streamlines and speeds up the court's internal processes through automated workflow.
"With its selection of TrueFiling, the California appellate courts will be able to close the door on slow manual processes and bottlenecks inherent with paper filing and can look ahead to time and cost savings from an immediate reduction in the volume of paper documents the courts will handle," said Scott Bade, ImageSoft president. "California shares our belief that e-filing is a key part of a "paper-on-demand" court which will have wide ranging benefits for all stakeholders, starting with e-filing and continuing for the life of the case."
First Appellate District Clerk-Administrator Diana Herbert said, "We selected ImageSoft for this project from a very competitive field of well-qualified and experienced vendors who responded to our RFP. We believe that TrueFiling will provide a friendly and convenient user interface to our filers and will provide our court with badly needed document management and workflow tools, allowing us to make much more efficient use of increasingly constrained resources. In discussions with court users in other jurisdictions, we were also impressed with ImageSoft's reputation for customer-centric service. We look forward to a productive partnership."
The scope of the work for ImageSoft will include implementing, deploying, hosting, training, maintenance and support of the TrueFiling solution. System implementation is currently underway with the Court of Appeal for the First Appellate District, in San Francisco. The Supreme Court and the remaining five Appellate Districts are expected to begin implementing TrueFiling once implementation in the First Appellate District is completed in January 2014.
