California Community Colleges Modernize with Oracle Cloud

San Joaquin Delta College and San Bernardino Community College District use Oracle Cloud Apps to save money, boost student services

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Oct. 26, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- To streamline overall operations and campus experiences, California community colleges, San Bernardino Community College District (SBCCD) and San Joaquin Delta College (SJDC) are using Oracle Cloud Applications. The depth and breadth of Oracle cloud solutions are helping the colleges transform and standardize business systems to drive sustainable cost reductions, provide greater insights through real-time analytics and improve overall services for students, faculty, staff and vendors.

Faced with the challenge of tightening public funding coupled with an influx of students, California community college administrators are under increased pressure to stretch available resources to serve the needs of their constituents. According to the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, funding for public two- and four-year colleges is nearly $10 billion below what it was just prior to the recession. Cloud-based technologies have enabled organizations across a variety of industries to address similar resource challenges while continuing to deliver innovative new services and build the foundation for a modern infrastructure to support evolving needs.

SBCCD, serves 24,000 students through Crafton Hills College and San Bernardino Valley College in Inland Southern California. The college district recognized a modern financial platform was critical to that mission. Following a competitive RFP process, SBCCD became the first California community college to select Oracle ERP Cloud to provide improved reporting capabilities across all college functions and deliver the necessary insights to make informed decisions.

San Joaquin Delta College (SJDC)
