ANAHEIM, Calif., July 12, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The California Cannabis Industry Association (CCIA), California's leading cannabis industry association, and the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA), the only national trade association representing the legal marijuana industry, announce Lori Ajax, the first-ever appointed Chief of the Bureau of Cannabis Control in California (informally known as the "Cannabis Czar") as the keynote speaker for the associations' newly launched California Cannabis Business Conference, taking place at the Anaheim Marriott in Anaheim, CA, September 21-22, 2017.
In February 2016, Gov. Brown appointed Lori Ajax as Bureau Chief to oversee the implementation and administration of California's seed-to-sale regulations on medical cannabis. Prior to her appointment, Chief Ajax served as Chief Deputy Director at the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control, after spending 22 years working her way up the ranks and 10 years in private industry prior to joining state government.
Chief Ajax's leadership overseeing the state regulatory regime for California's booming legal cannabis market makes her one of the industry's most highly anticipated speakers of the year, ahead of California's transition into the adult-use legal framework. Speaking recently at NCIA's 4th annual Cannabis Business Summit® & Expo, Chief Ajax addressed a standing-room only crowd of entrepreneurs.
As keynote speaker, she is expected to discuss her outlook on the future of California's cannabis market, in addition to providing her insights on what business owners can expect as they prepare for success in 2018. Chief Ajax will deliver her keynote address on September 21, 2017 at 10:45 AM at the conference.
Registrations for the California Cannabis Business Conference are now open. Prices will increase after July 12, 2017. For more information on attending or to register for passes, please visit: http://www.californiacannabisbusinessconference.com/ or call (888) 409-4418.
The California Cannabis Industry Association was founded on the principle of strength in numbers. The thousands of California businesses involved in our state-legal cannabis industry represent a significant economic force. As the industry's unified voice, CCIA works every day to ensure our burgeoning business sector is represented in a professional and coordinated way at the state level.
Representing more than 1,300 member-businesses nationwide, the National Cannabis Industry Association (NCIA) is the largest cannabis trade association in the U.S. and the only association representing cannabis-related businesses at the national level. NCIA promotes the growth of a responsible and legitimate cannabis industry and works toward a favorable social, economic, and legal environment for that industry in the United States.
