California Baptist University Names Vice President for Online and Professional Studies
RIVERSIDE, Calif., Jan. 14 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- David Lane Poole, a veteran of more than three decades in education and business, has been named Vice President for Online and Professional Studies at California Baptist University. Poole began his new duties at CBU January 11.
"We are very pleased that David has joined the executive team here at CBU," said Dr. Ronald L. Ellis, CBU president. Ellis noted that Poole brings a proven track record in faith-based higher education and strong business expertise to the newly created position at CBU.
"I believe that David's extensive experience and skills will make a positive contribution as we move to extend the distinctive CBU brand and quality academic programs into the fast-growing and highly competitive online arena," Ellis said.
Poole brings more than 30 years' experience in the business and education fields to his new post including significant experience in enrollment management, marketing administration, operations, and program development. Since 2004, Poole has served as vice president for institutional advancement at Hope International University in Fullerton, CA where his duties included enrollment management, donor relations, marketing and public relations.
He previously served as associate dean for graduate and executive programs for the Argyros School of Business and Economics at Chapman University in Orange, CA. For 13 years Poole was Executive Director for all Executive Programs at Pepperdine University in Malibu, CA. Prior to Pepperdine, Poole directed marketing for a mid-sized geotechnical engineering firm; held various management positions in the retail industry; and served as department chair for one of the largest performing arts programs in the California public school system.
Poole received both his Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and Master of Science in Administration and Technology from Pepperdine University. He is presently a candidate in the Ed.D. program in Higher Education at California State University, Fullerton.
California Baptist University currently offers 25 master's degree programs and more than 90 undergraduate majors and concentrations. Founded in 1950, CBU is a private comprehensive institution located in Riverside, California and affiliated with California Southern Baptist Convention. Fall 2009 enrollment at CBU totaled 4,105 students, marking the institution's 10th consecutive year of growth. CBU is accredited by the Western Association of Schools and Colleges and is a member of the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities, the Association of Independent California Colleges and Universities, the International Association of Baptist Colleges and Universities, and the Consortium for Global Education.
