California American Water to Host Silent Auction to Benefit Water for People Campaign

SANTA ROSA, Calif., April 12 /PRNewswire/ -- California American Water will host a silent auction to benefit Water for People, a non-profit organization dedicated to creating sustainable drinking water, sanitation and health and hygiene education in third world countries.

The silent auction will include an exciting showcase of local Sonoma County and North Bay artists as well as an hors d'oeuvres reception.

American Water has lent its strong support to this organization for more than a decade and is striving to make this its most successful year yet.

It is estimated that nearly 884 million people do not have access to safe drinking water and 2.5 billion are without adequate sanitation worldwide. It is also estimated that around 6,000 people die from water-related illness everyday, the vast majority of them being children. Water for People has been working for the past 20 years to create a world where all people have access to safe drinking water and sanitation.
