California Almonds And Host Of "Feast with Friends" Team Up To Crowdsource An Almond Milk Menu
Vote on Chef Dan Churchill's Recipe Ideas Each Week on Instagram
MODESTO, Calif., Nov. 29, 2017 /PRNewswire/ -- The Almond Board of California is partnering with Chef Dan Churchill of Scripps Network's Feast with Friends and ABC's Good Morning America on easy and craveable recipes to make with almond milk. Churchill will share new ideas for breakfast, dinner and dessert each week on Instagram. And the best part? The final recipes will be crowdsourced based on votes. Follow Dan Churchill (@dan_churchill) on Instagram for weekly announcements with different recipe options to choose from. Vote in the comments, and Chef Dan will announce the week's winning recipe each Thursday through Dec.14, along with the chance to vote on the next set of recipes.
Chef Dan's global travels inspire his recipes and are reflected in the creativity of the ingredients he chooses and pairs with California almonds. In addition to his new series, Feast with Friends, which airs on the Scripps Network and is also available anytime on Genius Kitchen, Churchill has also completed a documentary, Good Cooks, filmed on location in Vietnam. He's a long-time almond milk fan, evident in the recipes on his blog, and he's a natural partner to showcase the versatility of almond milk beyond the usual uses.
"Many of us use almond milk in our coffee, smoothies and cereal – including me! So, I'm excited to explore even more places almond milk can go – from dinner and dessert, to new takes on breakfast," says Churchill. "Let's face it – it's easiest to work with ingredients we already have in the fridge, like almond milk as it gets increasingly popular. I'm looking forward to hearing from everyone with votes on which recipes they want to see most!"
Starting this week his Instagram page, Chef Dan will provide two new recipe options to vote on, along with a new winning recipe, each Thursday through December 14. Almond milk's versatility makes it a good fit for many dishes, from breakfast and brunch, to sweet or savory sauces, soups and more. Almond milk has a creamy, delicious taste and texture that makes it U.S. consumers' favorite non-dairy milk, and it's free of saturated fat and cholesterol. Unsweetened almond milks have 0 grams of sugar and can be just 30 or 35 calories a cup.
