Calculated Industries Adds Blind Mark to Its Family of Construction Tools
Magnetic Electrical Outlet Locator Simplifies, Speeds Up Drywall Installation
CARSON CITY, Nev., July 28, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Calculated Industries (CI) has acquired the Blind Mark line of magnetic electrical outlet locators. These patented devices make easy work of one of the most daunting tasks for anyone installing drywall.
CI is best known for its line of specialized calculators like the Construction Master Pro. Steve Kennedy, president of CI, said, "We are always looking for tools that help people simplify difficult tasks. When Blind Mark became available we knew that a significant portion of our customer base is involved in construction, whether they be professionals on large projects or DIYers doing a remodel, and this would be a tool that would simplify and speed up a tough job – hanging drywall."
The Blind Mark Magnetic Drywall Cutout tools use powerful rare-earth magnets to help accurately locate and cut electrical outlet access holes in drywall, sheetrock, paneling and other materials with no measuring required. Other drywall locator methods require lifting and lowering heavy drywall sheets multiple times to mark, cut, then install. With Blind Mark Locators put the drywall up once, cut the hole and it's done.
There are three variations of Blind Mark tools and one accessory:
- The original Blind Mark XT is used for locating single-gang or multi-gang rectangular outlet boxes.
- The Multi Mark can be used for practically all electrical boxes: metal, plastic, composite, rectangle, round, octagon, multi-gang, single-gang, standard, or thin.
- The Center Mark is used for locating 4", 5" or 6" recessed lighting fixtures (cans).
- The Plug Mark is an accessory for the Blind Mark that is used for finding electrical receptacles that have already been installed. Each kit includes two target magnets that plug into receptacles before hanging new drywall.
The Blind Marks can be used for practically any material used for walls, including plywood, particle board, laminated flooring, Masonite, exterior siding, cement board, tile backsplashes, slate and more.
