CakeSystems (SM) Software Released for Energy Trust of Oregon Home Energy Rating Program
PORTLAND, Ore., Sept. 5, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Earth Advantage Institute (EAI), a nonprofit sustainable building organization, is excited to have its newly re-branded CakeSystems auditing software included in Energy Trust of Oregon's first phase of home energy rating implementation.
EAI has been refining CakeSystems software (formerly EPS Auditor Pro) for three years in order to provide a fast, accurate and flexible solution for contractors focused on improving home energy efficiency. The software is designed to allow home performance contractors to model savings, create customer friendly recommendation reports, and deliver an EPS™ (Energy Performance Score), the label used by Energy Trust to provide homeowners with a clear and concise description of their home's estimated energy use and carbon footprint. The software also incorporates a proposal generator that allows contractors to electronically supply incentive information directly to Energy Trust.
David Heslam, EAI's director of business development and strategy, said, "We're elated to work with home performance contractors in our own backyard." EAI's CakeSystems software was one of two chosen to produce EPS™ labels and was ranked first as the most accurate & consistent of all the auditing software evaluated by Energy Trust of Oregon. Training for the software will be available to qualified contractors on September 12 – 13, 2012. Information on software training can be found at: earthadvantage.org/cstraining.
CakeSystems is built on the "SIMPLE" algorithm developed by nationally recognized energy efficiency expert, Michael Blasnik. It is designed to provide home energy auditors and home performance contractors an easy-to-use tool that provides a highly accurate measurement of a home's current energy usage and modeled upgrade savings in about an hour. CakeSystems uses its core auditing software as the foundation for a customized software suite that fits elegantly into energy efficiency programs to dramatically increase audit-to-retrofit conversion rates.
Energy efficiency programs in Washington State, Virginia, Massachusetts, Alabama, North Dakota and now Oregon are currently using CakeSystems software. Independent energy auditors are also using the software in New Mexico, Maryland, California, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Maine, Tennessee, Georgia, North Carolina, Florida and Illinois.
