Muslim civil rights group repudiates Adam Gadahn's call to violence
WASHINGTON, March 7 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A prominent national Muslim civil rights and advocacy group today welcomed reports from Pakistan that American Al-Qaeda spokesman Adam Gadahn has been arrested.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) also repudiated Gadahn's latest call to violence contained in an Al-Qaeda video released Sunday.

In a statement, CAIR said:
"We welcome the reported arrest of Adam Gadahn and repeat the American Muslim community's repudiation of all those who would promote or condone terrorism anywhere in the world."
Along with innumerable condemnations of terror, CAIR has in the past launched an online anti-terror petition drive called "Not in the Name of Islam," initiated a television public service announcement (PSA) campaign against religious extremism and coordinated a "fatwa," or Islamic religious ruling, against terrorism and extremism.
