CAIR: U.S. Muslims Offer Condolences on Death of Coptic Pope
WASHINGTON, March 18, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- A prominent national Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization today offered condolences on the death of Pope Shenouda III of Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Church. Pope Shenouda died Saturday and will be buried on Tuesday.

The Washington-based Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) said in a statement:
"Pope Shenouda was respected worldwide for his efforts to promote interfaith harmony and for his positive outreach to Muslims. We offer our sincere condolences to members of Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Church and to all those who, like Pope Shenouda, devote their lives to seeking peace, justice and reconciliation."
