CAIR to Join Rep. Connolly at DC Presser to Demand Answers About Jamal Khashoggi - #JusticeForJamal

WASHINGTON, Oct. 9, 2018 /PRNewswire/ -- On Wednesday, October 10, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will join U.S. Congressman Gerry Connolly (D-VA) and colleagues of Jamal Khashoggi (KHA-SHOG-GEE) at a press conference and vigil in Washington, D.C., to demand answers about that journalist's disappearance and to express solidarity with his loved ones. The event is hosted by the group "Justice for Jamal Khashoggi." Participating groups include PEN America. #JusticeForJamal

Khashoggi, a Washington Post contributor and resident of Virginia, has been missing since entering the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia consulate last week in Istanbul, Turkey.

The event will take place outside the Washington Post's headquarters and will feature local and national leaders and human rights activists.

Turkish authorities believe that Khashoggi, a prominent journalist and commentator who writes an opinion column for the Post, was killed at the Saudi Consulate in Istanbul and his body subsequently removed.
