CAIR-NJ Thanks Governor for Islamophobia Warning
SOUTH PLAINFIELD, N.J., Aug. 17 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The New Jersey chapter of the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR-NJ) today thanked New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie for cautioning the GOP against using the controversy over a Manhattan Islamic community center to paint "all of Islam" with the brush of terrorism.
At a bill signing ceremony yesterday, Governor Christie recognized the respect that should be given to families of 9-11 victims, then warned: "But it would be wrong to so overreact to that, that we paint Islam with a brush of radical Muslim extremists."
