CAIR: Muslim Group to Host SOTU Watch Party at Capitol Hill HQ
WASHINGTON, Jan. 12. 2016 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Tonight, the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), the nation's largest Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization, will host a State of the Union address watch party for members and leaders of the Muslim community at its Capitol Hill headquarters in Washington, D.C.
CAIR will also be live-tweeting the president's address using the hashtag #MuslimSOTU. Light refreshments will be provided.

Yesterday, CAIR urged President Obama to offer support for the American Muslim community during tonight's address.
"At a time of increasing Islamophobia in our nation, intensified in part by the inflammatory rhetoric of public figures like Donald Trump, it is more important than ever that American Muslims take part in the political process," said CAIR National Executive Director Nihad Awad.
