CHICAGO, Oct. 1, 2014 /PRNewswire/ -- CAHG (www.cahg.com), one of the world's largest healthcare communications companies, has promoted Executive Vice President, Chief Creative Officer (CCO) Robin Shapiro to president of the agency. Ms. Shapiro adds client service group responsibilities while remaining CCO and continuing to lead all efforts for clients in campaign development, scientific insights, digital strategy and execution and production delivery.
She will continue to report to Scott Cotherman, CAHG Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of TBWA\WorldHealth.
In announcing her promotion, Mr. Cotherman said, "Robin is a strong strategic contributor to clients' business challenges and is valued for her leadership toward brand success. She is known among our clients, staff and her peers as a tireless worker, superior leader, exceptional client relations manager and creative visionary."
Ms. Shapiro joined CAHG in 1990 as a copywriter and has been a major contributor to numerous award-winning, iconic campaigns for clients such as Baxter Healthcare, Bristol-Myers Squibb, G.D. Searle, Merck & Co. and Westwood Pharmaceuticals. She joined the executive leadership team in 2009 as CCO and helped lead the transition of the agency to become digital at its core.
Ms. Shapiro said that leading CAHG and the agency's clients during a time of such rapid growth and reinvention is very exciting. "There are many converging forces driving positive change in our industry—genomic medicine, patient empowerment and digital engagement. We intend to remain at the forefront of change as the creative force behind the world's most admired healthcare brands."
A creative superstar herself, Ms. Shapiro has attracted and retained some of the best creative talent in the industry. She recently introduced a new creative process to CAHG clients called SPARK™. SPARK™ is a wholesale reinvention of the creative process from start to finish. The result is better ideas faster and a more enjoyable experience for all involved.
Under Ms. Shapiro's leadership, CAHG is the only US-based agency to win a Global Award in three consecutive years. Due to her leadership skills, Robin was appointed chairperson of the 2014 Global Awards jury, and she participates on many creative awards show juries. She also succeeded Mr. Cotherman as the agency's representative to the Medical Advertising Hall of Fame.
In addition to her responsibilities as President and Chief Creative Officer of CAHG, Ms. Shapiro continues to serve as the health professional agency hub leader in the U.S. for TBWA\WorldHealth, a global agency network with 48 offices in 36 countries. In that role, Ms. Shapiro works closely with other agency hub leaders across the network to drive global brands to market dominant positions.
