LOS ANGELES, Dec. 4, 2015 /PRNewswire/ -- Caesarstone, luxury quartz surface manufacturer, will be on the scene during Art Basel Miami Beach 2015. Caesarstone will partner with Architectural Digest during Art Basel 2015 for "Refuge," an exhibition of five original contemporary art installations. For the first time, Caesarstone will also partner with Elle Decor as the quartz surfaces are featured throughout this year's concept home - located in Miami's Wynwood Arts District at 250 Wynwood, a 6,000 square-foot, one-of-a-kind condominium home in one of the most renowned creative neighborhoods.
"We are thrilled to once again partner with Architectural Digest at Art Basel and to be a part of Elle Decor's newest concept home," said Sagi Cohen, President of Caesarstone US. "Caesarstone is a huge supporter of the design community across the country and we are honored to work with some of the best."
Architectural Digest "Refuge":
Architectural Digest's "Refuge" at 1 Hotel will feature original works by Hilary Harnischfeger, Robert Lazzarini, Philippe Malouin, Michele Oka Doner and Carlos Rolon/Dzine, curated by Camille Obering.
Philippe Malouin's installation, Movements, was commissioned by Caesarstone to study the use of Caesarstone surface material in process-based design. Movements, which incorporates a 12-piece swingset, is an interactive installation juxtaposing the natural, organic beach scenery with the minimalist, monolithic language investigated by the designer. Because of its circular arrangement, each swing faces another to encourage an interaction that is at once individual and communal. At the center of Movements, a forest-like cluster of planters document Malouin's process of experimentation with a material originating from sand. He explores a very different range of techniques, such as hand-sculpting, traditional inlay and marquetry, as well as the material's versatility and color.
The exhibit, which is easily accessible from South Beach and the convention center, is open to the public December 2–6 from 12pm to 6pm at The Beach Club at 1 Hotel South Beach, 2341 Collins Avenue.
Elle Decor Modern Life Concept Home:
The Elle Decor Modern Life Concept Home will feature the work of five leading designers: Daniele Busca, Matthew MacDonald, Elizabeth Martin, Sam Robin and Fernando Wong. All were hand-selected by ELLE DECOR editor-in-chief, Michael Boodro, who celebrates his fifth year with the magazine this fall, to design and decorate the space in a way that fits in with the artistic and creative spirit of the Wynwood neighborhood.
From luxury kitchens and bathrooms to finely crafted furniture and sophisticated consumer electronics, the ELLE DECOR Modern Life Concept House is the ultimate design-focused gallery showcasing top industry talent and some of the nation's finest suppliers of finishes, furnishings and decorative items. Caesarstone in Pure White and Piatra Grey will be featured in two bathrooms and a powder room.
"One of the most exciting neighborhoods in the United States, Wynwood Arts District is an industrial area that street artists have transformed into a destination. And now it's becoming residential," Boodro said. "We are excited to be showcasing five major design talents at 250 Wynwood, the area's first new apartment building, which celebrates street art as it presents a new vision for urban living."
