Joseph Bial, Andrew Forman and Peter Isajiw Join Partnership

The following attorneys were elected Partner:
New York:
Peter Isajiw focuses on complex securities and commercial cases as well as criminal and regulatory investigations. Peter has worked on matters for clients in the financial services, insurance, mortgage, retail apparel, digital media and pharmaceutical industries. He has also handled significant pro bono matters for the firm including a successful constitutional challenge that overturned North Carolina's law prohibiting cohabitation and the representation of a federal death row inmate in a post-conviction proceeding seeking to set aside the conviction and death sentence, and grant a new trial in Texas. Peter was a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Yvette Kane, Chief Judge of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania. He received his J.D. from the Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he was a member of the Temple Law Review, and his undergraduate degree from Villanova University.
Washington:
A former clerk for Judge Douglas H. Ginsburg of the United States Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit, Joseph Bial is the principal senior attorney on a number of litigation matters for Cadwalader, including defending several companies in antitrust class actions alleging price-fixing. Joe also represents plaintiffs in several high-profile cases in the high-tech industry that have garnered substantial media interest, including Internet search. In addition to his work in the United States, Joe is integrally involved in counseling clients facing competition-related issues throughout Asia, including China's recently enacted Anti-Monopoly Law. He received his B.A. from Miami University, his Ph.D. (Economics) from the University of Arizona and his law degree from the University of Chicago with high honors.
Andrew Forman has taken a leadership role in many of the Antitrust Group's most significant matters over the last several years. He has worked on a variety of competition-related issues for clients across a wide-range of industries, including in the transportation, high-tech, and pharmaceutical industries. His professional career included several years at the Federal Trade Commission where he helped lead antitrust investigations into major transactions, including in the pharmaceutical, medical device, consumer products, and industrial products industries. Andy received his B.A. from Washington University, with honors, and his law degree from Georgetown University graduating cum laude. Andy also was a judicial law clerk at the D.C. Court of Appeals.
