Cadwalader Partner Recognized in Ethisphere's Hall of Fame
NEW YORK, Sept. 11, 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Cadwalader, Wickersham & Taft LLP (Cadwalader), a leading counselor to global financial institutions and corporations, announced that the Ethisphere Institute, a preeminent international think-tank dedicated to business ethics, has honored longstanding partner, Peter Clark in this year's 'Attorneys Who Matter' Hall of Fame. The annual award is Ethisphere's highest honor bestowed upon one practicing attorney.
"Peter practices law at the highest of levels. He is a role model, an ambassador and a trusted colleague who continues to provide our clients with the highest level of service," said W. Christopher White, Chairman of Cadwalader. "I am delighted to congratulate Peter on his receipt of this prestigious award."
Based in Washington, DC, Peter practices Business Fraud and Complex Litigation and 2012 marks the fourth year that he has been recognized by the Institute. In addition, he was recognized earlier this year by Chambers & Partners as a Foreign Corrupt Practices Act expert who enjoys "enormous respect" in anticorruption work and "knows this area like the back of his hand."
"Peter is a cornerstone of our practice and it is wonderful to see his consistent best practice recognized by not only Cadwalader but by the industry as a whole," commented Raymond Banoun, Head of the Firm's Business Fraud Group.
Prior to joining the firm, Peter served as Deputy Chief in the Fraud Section of the Criminal Division of the Department of Justice and as Special Counsel in the Division of Enforcement of the Securities and Exchange Commission. Mr. Clark has handled hundreds of voluntary disclosures of illicit corporate payments and securities enforcement matters both at the SEC and the DOJ, and successfully prosecuted the first transnational bribery cases brought by the Department. He played an important role in the enactment and subsequent amendments to the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) and was the Department's principal negotiator at the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development's (OECD) anti-bribery convention and the Council of Europe Criminal Law Convention.
