Cadence Health Board Of Directors Appoints Cleveland Clinic's Dr. Joseph Cacchione to Board
WINFIELD, Ill., July 10, 2012 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Board of Directors of Cadence Health, the health system created through the merger of Central DuPage Health and Delnor Community Health System, recently appointed Joseph Cacchione, M.D., to serve on the Board. Cacchione, an interventional cardiologist, is the Chairman of Operations and Strategy for the Heart & Vascular Institute at Cleveland Clinic.

A graduate of Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, Cacchione served his internship and residency at University Hospitals of Cleveland and a fellowship in clinical cardiology at the University of Rochester, Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, NY. He returned to University Hospitals for a one-year research fellowship followed by a one-year fellowship in interventional cardiology, which he completed in 1991. In 2007, he earned Executive Certification at the University of Chicago Graduate School of Business. Prior to his appointment to the Cleveland Clinic staff in 2009, Cacchione was in private cardiology practice and on the cardiology staff at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie, Pa. from 1991 through 2008.

Cacchione has been an active member of the American College of Cardiology for 15 years and currently is a member of the Board of Trustees. He has participated in more than two dozen research projects related to new treatments for chest pain, heart attack and coronary artery disease.
