Cachet Releases Mobile Deposit for Tablets

MINNEAPOLIS, June 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Cachet Financial Solutions, a leading provider of remote deposit capture (RDC) solutions for financial institutions nationwide, recently announced that its mobile deposit solution, Select Mobile, is now available for use on portable tablet devices.  

More and more consumers are moving away from traditional personal computing solutions in favor of the more portable and powerful technologies like Smartphone and tablets.  According to Bernstein Research, consumers are adopting the iPad faster than any other consumer electronics device.  If this adoption rate persists, the iPad will become the fourth largest consumer electronics category, just behind, TVs, Smartphones and laptops.

Cachet's Select Mobile application allows account holders to initiate mobile-deposit sessions on their tablets equipped with a 2 megapixel camera, key in their deposit amounts and snap photos of the front and back of checks.  Select Mobile captures the check and utilizes Mitek Systems' patented technology to convert it to a high quality image.  Before transmitting the images, Select Mobile formats the images and corrects any distortions or skewing and confirms that the images meet industry Check 21 and mobile image-quality standards.  Financial institutions may review the image though Cachet's proprietary CheckReview technology before acceptance, if desired.  All transactions are transmitted with multiple layers of security and, if necessary, can be traced back to registered Smartphones in order to combat fraud.
