Cabovisao Selects Sigma Systems for Device Provisioning

TORONTO, June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Sigma Systems, an industry leader in Advanced IP Service Fulfillment solutions, announced today that Cabovisao SA has selected its next-generation OSS solutions to provision PacketCable and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) devices.

Cabovisao, a Portuguese cable operator, is a pioneer in Europe in offering triple-play telecommunication services. Cabovisao delivers cable TV, VoIP and high-speed broadband services to residential customers, along with commercial broadband and voice services for small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) in Portugal. Sigma Systems already supports the service delivery of Cabovisao's home phone and broadband offerings to more than 440,000 subscribers.

Cabovisao will deploy the Device Provisioning Manager, which is part of the Sigma Systems Service Management Portfolio of IP service fulfillment solutions. The Device Provisioning Manager will allow Cabovisao to:

• Simplify activation and management of its triple-play bundle
• Cost-effectively scale as its subscriber base grows
• Auto-configure and provision business and residential customer-premises equipment, including PacketCable, SIP, DOCSIS 3.0 and IPv6 devices.
