Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation Announces Vice President, Land and General Counsel Retirement

HOUSTON, May 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cabot Oil & Gas Corporation (NYSE: COG) today announced that J. Scott Arnold has elected to retire effective September 1, 2010.  Arnold joined the Company in 1983 as a Corporate Attorney in Cabot's Legal Department.  Since then Arnold has held positions of increasing responsibility in the Land and Legal Departments and also lived in Colorado, West Virginia and Texas for those assignments.

Arnold, age 56, has been at Cabot for almost 27 years.  His most recent position was carrying out the dual role of managing the Company's overall land efforts while at the same time handling its litigation and other legal affairs.  "Scott has been instrumental in our recent success in acquiring land in the Marcellus," commented Dan O. Dinges, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer. "Scott has also played an important role in all of our acquisitions/divestitures in the last 12 years including, most recently, the Enduring acquisition in 2008.  He has also successfully managed all litigation affecting the Company during that same time period."

Arnold's Land and Legal duties will be divided into two separate functions.  Kevin Cunningham, Associate General Counsel, will replace Arnold in the General Counsel role.  Cunningham holds a Juris Doctorate from the University of Texas and has spent the vast majority of his career working in the energy law departments of peers.

Todd Liebl will replace Arnold in the Land Department role as the company-wide Director, Land.  Liebl joined the Company in 2008 as Regional Land Manager – Gulf Coast after holding positions of increasing responsibility in the Land Departments of Anadarko Petroleum and Chesapeake Energy.
